Detox for Immunity is designed to purify, nourish and help people to strengthen their immune system by eating whole foods, exercising, drinking nutritious shakes and taking whole-foods supplements.
The menu includes a varied abundance of fresh vegetables and fruits and healthy fats for the first 10 days, with select proteins added on day 11. The supplements support the body’s ability to remove naturally occurring toxins. This promotes a state that allows for optimal toxin release.
Healing reactions can happen and usually occur between days 3-5 although everyone is unique. This can mean that you would feel a little tired, achy or have a slight headache. I was introduced to the power of food to heal when my oldest daughter was dealing with tooth decay and we used the GAPS diet to halt it. This process inspired our family to live a simpler life in the country and so we moved to a small farm in Idaho where we raise all our own meat and eggs. The Detox for Immunity is a fantastic way to jump start your weight loss in a healthy way – by focusing on eating real foods in a way that will encourage blood sugar regulation. The ideal weight-management system is not a quick fix but a long-term commitment. You will need to make lifestyle changes that will continue long after the detoxification process has been completed. With Detox for Immunity you will be headed down the right path and at the end of the program, you will have opportunities to continue down that path further if you desire.
Unfortunately, due to the food nature of the product, we are not able to accept returns.
Exercise facilitates the removal of toxins through sweating. We recommend some exercise such as walking or rebounding for 30-45 minutes a day. Strenuous exercise should be put on hold during the Detox for Immunity. Consult your health care professional if you are currently on a more strenuous exercise program that you would like to maintain throughout the detox program or about resuming strenuous exercise after the program.
Ideally you would get all organic produce as you don’t want to be putting more toxins in while you are trying to remove them.
Here are some tips to help you stay on track:
Most medications you will want to stay on during the program, please contact your prescribing doctor to help you decide. Regular supplements, such as a multivitamin, are optional. Often this is a good opportunity to take a break from them. You will be taking detoxification supports with the program. If you need any digestive supports such as digestive enzymes, those would be appropriate to continue taking. If you have questions please ask your health care practitioner or if you do not currently have one, you may reach out to Katrina.
Two of the main effects will be an increase in urination and bowel movements. This is a natural effect of detoxification and should not interfere with your daily activities. In rare cases, you may experience a throbbing sensation in the head, generalized aches, itchy skin, rashes, or fatigue. These are normal occurrences and should subside in a day or two.
Remember your body is doing a lot of work behind the scenes during a detoxification protocol. Additionally, you may be fatigued because your body may require a higher amount of protein during detoxification and post-detox. In this case, you may add some additional whey to your smoothies – you’ll get a great resource page with recommendations as part of the course.
Remember to drink plenty of water, at least 64 ounces per day. Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits with a high fiber content. Eating one beet daily encourages regular bowel movements. We’ll cover some additional supplements and strategies during the program such as coffee enemas that will provide additional depth to the detoxification process.
The Standard Process products in the Detox for Immunity program are vegetarian (lacto-ovo) but not vegan.
If you suspect that you have a reaction to a specific food, refrain from eating it. This should not affect your participation in the program.
There is no gluten in any of the supplements in the program. We recommend not having any gluten or grains while you are doing the Detox for Immunity program.
