Pilates Reformer Training Program – Reformer 1, Reformer 2, Reformer 3

The Pilates Reformer is an extraordinarily flexible piece of exercise equipment.  It allows resistance and support for exercises involving every part of the body.  Our Pilates Reformer Training program gives you a thorough understanding of how to use the Reformer to develop core and extremity strength, stability, flexibility, coordination and balance. The wide range of exercises provides a stimulating workout for clients at any level of ability.

Reformer 1 (18 hours)  Introduction to Pilates, Beginning Exercises & Pilates Principles

Prerequisites: none

Reformer 1 includes an introduction to the Pilates Reformer including set up and safety, anatomy of the Reformer, beginning exercises, program sequencing and teaching tips for group classes, protocols for osteoporosis, and pre / post-natal classes. By the end of the course you will be able to teach a beginning Reformer class or personal training session.

Reformer 2 (16 hours) Intermediate Exercises & Back Conditions

Prerequisites: Reformer I

Reformer 2 includes intermediate exercises and modifications and variations designed for group and individual instruction. Teaching successful classes and sessions to clients at different levels of ability is emphasized. Lecture and discussion on various back conditions and contraindications for them in the Pilates setting.  Included are a variety of programs designed to keep your clients inspired.

Reformer 3 (14 hours)  Advanced Exercises & Sport Specific Programs

Prerequisites: Reformer 2

Reformer 3 includes advanced exercises plus modifications and variations so they are adaptable for everybody, tips for training the advanced client and how to design programs for specific sports.

BB Pilates Reformer Instructor Requirements for Completion

To become a fully qualified Balanced Body Reformer Instructor, students must complete the following:

    • Anatomy* (Anatomy in 3D or college level equivalent)
    • BB Mat Instructor training
    • BB Reformer 1 – Course work, written and practical test (18 hours)
    • BB Reformer 2 – Course work, written and practical test (16 hours)
    • BB Reformer 3 – Course work, written and practical test (14 hours)
    • 30 Reformer personal sessions, 30 observation hours and 90 teaching hours
    • BB Reformer Test Out
