Philosophy statement: Live every day as if it were your first! Every day is a new opportunity to become the person you want to be. Use today to become more focused, more fit and feel better. Pilates and a clean diet are the perfect combination to make me the healthier and more energetic mom I want to be!
Favorite Pilates exercise and why: I love the Circle Saw on the Cadillac! This exercise combines all the movements of the spine: flexion, extension, rotation and side bending. It feels wonderful!!!
How Pilates helped me: I have been dealing with back pain since I was in a car accident when I was 18. For almost 20 years my spine continues to grow weaker as I lead sedentary life, being treated by doctors who masked the pain with medication, epidural blocks, facet injections, nerve ablations and finally in 2006 a spinal fusion. During my rehabilitation from my back surgery a Physical Therapist recommended Pilates and I started taking private lessons. Through the wonderful exercises designed by Joseph Pilates and the transformation I felt while getting my mind in tune with my body I am now feeling better than I have ever felt. I was immediately hooked on Pilates and knew I needed to make a career change so I could pass this wonderful way of living on to others.
Why I enjoy teaching Pilates: I love that Pilates creates balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement in our daily life. My passion is helping others find the amazing mind and body connection that Pilates provides, whether you are looking to tone-up, lose weight, obtain a healthier lifestyle or reducing pain through the strength of the core. Seeing Pilates make a positively affect my clients lives is a true blessing.
