Philosophy statement: Life is physical. A Pilates practice can enhance, improve and repair the mind and body to fully appreciate all that a fully lived life has to offer.
Favorite Pilates exercise and why: Airplane because I have in no way ‘mastered’ it but it’s fun to keep trying!
How Pilates helped me: Pilates has broadened my understanding of how to use my mind to control my body instead of the other way around. The extra mental effort has made my more traditional fitness routines more effective and enjoyable as well as helped me develop into a more dynamic fitness instructor.
Why I enjoy teaching Pilates: As a group exercise instructor I have always enjoyed sharing the benefits of fitness in a fun and social setting. Teaching Pilates allows me to focus more on an individual and their specific needs and aspirations. Guiding and educating a client to better understand their body and fully realize their potential is the most satisfying.
