Katrina Foe has been teaching Pilates for more than 13 years. She loves Pilates now more than ever and continues to find more depth and power in the work. Her greatest joy comes from watching her clients experience profound changes in their bodies and seeing her students light up when they understand another aspect of Pilates.
Through her degree in Modern Dance, Katrina discovered Pilates and what it could do for her body. While completing her physical therapy internship with an emphasis in Kinesiology she discovered that Pilates incorporates both her love for general fitness and rehabilitation. While still an undergraduate, she began her Pilates training by taking the mat and equipment training through the PhysicalMind Institute. She continued her training with Stott Pilates by taking their comprehensive training program and traveling to Canada to study at their headquarters with Moira Stott. The Pilates Method Alliance has awarded her the Gold Pilates certification and uses her as a continuing education provider. Katrina has also been awarded the title 2nd Generation Master Pilates Instructor by Lolita San Miguel, who is only one of 3 people left alive that was trained by Joseph Pilates.
Katrina opened Personalized Pilates in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2001 and has enjoyed watching the studio expand to help more clients enjoy movement and feel good in their bodies. She has been conducting Pilates teacher training since the studio opened as well as offering continuing education workshops across the country at private studios, gyms and conventions. The Balanced Body program that Katrina teaches is a 500 hour comprehensive Pilates training program on all of the Pilates equipment including the mat, Reformer, Cadillac/Tower, Chair, Ped-a-Pul, Arm Chair, Foot Corrector, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Arc Barrel, Bean Bag and Toe Corrector. She has also developed a coinciding Apprentice Program that helps mentor instructors in training.
Katrina values learning and has continued her education through a variety of workshops and conferences through a myriad of different Pilates schools. While staying true to the principles of Pilates, Katrina integrates the BOSU into her Pilates training and is a Master Trainer for them.
Internationally, Katrina teaches at many Pilates conventions including Pilates on Tour, Pilates Style, Pilates University and the MS Fitness Convention. She travels to Florida to teach the Anatomy in Clay as part of Lolita San Miguel’s Masters Program for Pilates instructors as well as personally studying with Lolita. Locally, Katrina has co-founded the Arizona Pilates Alliance which helps unite the local Pilates instructors and raise the professional standard of the industry through continuing education networking events. She is also active in the community offering free Pilates mat classes and demonstrations.
Although her love for Pilates is vibrant, it does not compare to her love for her beautiful daughters which are her greatest joy. Katrina is excited to watch them grow up practicing Pilates!

Philosophy statement: Pilates is not just a set of amazing exercises. It is a whole way of life that should affect every aspect of your being.
Favorite Pilates exercise and why: Short Spine because it just opens my spine up in such a delicious way. I sure miss it when I’m pregnant!
How Pilates helped me: I was having a lot of back pain that had been treated unsuccessfully until Pilates. Through Pilates my assymetrical foot structures were addressed and corrected which straightened out my pelvis/spine and miraculously healed my back. Pilates’ whole body view really changed the way that I look at healing as well as how my body functions.
Why I enjoy teaching Pilates: I love helping people learn to enjoy moving in their bodies. Movement should be fun and enjoyable for everyone!
