Philosophy statement: When fully embraced, Pilates is a lifestyle; a choice to be fully connected physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually with your body during all of life's daily activities, large and small.
Favorite Pilates exercise and why: Monkey on the Cadillac. This exercise focuses so well on stretching my tight hamstrings and lower back and sometimes I enjoy making monkey noises while doing the exercise. Where else can you do that in public and get away with it? (OK, maybe the zoo.)
How Pilates helped me: Increased flexibility, core awareness and strength, stress relief, better sleep, and understanding the interconnectivity of the body, mind, and spirit.
Why I enjoy teaching Pilates: My greatest joy in Pilates comes when a client experiences one of those "AH-HA" moments where their mind, body, and spirit collectively embrace one of the Pilates principles. You can see it in their eyes and feel it in your soul when this happens. There is nothing else like it!
